Mea-Lynn was born in Curacao, an island in the Caribbean, where she was always around traditional Zouk and Kompa music. At the age of 12 she joined her brother Ryan in learning Brazilian Zouk, an upcoming dance in Curacao. Being able to add a technical dance style to such a familiar type of music was fascinating to her. Ryan and Mea-Lynn moved to Los Angeles when she was only 14 and started spreading their love for Zouk with the LA dance community. Mea-Lynn had been learning salsa simultaneously as Zouk and quickly started learning Bachata since LA has a rich Latin dancing community. Mea-Lynn discovered Kizomba, an undeniably sensual dance that exudes passion, in 2012. Due to her Zouk background, Kizomba was an effortless addition to her dance repertoire. She resides with her brother Ryan in Los Angeles, and together they continue to teach and share their passion for Zouk and Kizomba, two distinct but amazingly beautiful dances in their own ways.
